GENERAL FEEDING ADVICE

1) Clean, fresh water should be available at all times.
2) Horses and ponies should be fed according to weight not size.
3) Feed according to the level of work undertaken.
4) Feed by weight, not volume.
5) Adjustments to your horse or pony's diet should be made gradually.
6) Only feed good quality feeds and forage which are dust and mould free.
7) Divide daily feed into 2 or 3 meals and feed at the same time each day.
8) Leave 1 to 2 hours before exercising your horse or pony after a meal.

Daily feed (forage and concentrate) should be approximately 2-2.5% of body weight. The above figures are intended as a guide only and should be adjusted to suit your individual horse or pony.
